I’ve got some seriously colourful news to share… I’ve been featured in a book! And not just any book. It’s called The Rainbow Home: Over 200 Ideas and Tips for Adding Color to Your Home by the brilliant Laura Perryman. A total celebration of joyful interiors, bold palettes, and colour-filled living 🌈
This book is your perfect guide into a world of dopamine decor, and I’m beyond thrilled that my own happy, colourful kitchen (and my jolly Republic of Happy kitchen textiles!) have been included in it.
The Rainbow Home is like Pinterest in book form. Jammed with over 200 colourful ideas, clever DIYs, styling tips, and real-life homes that celebrate individuality and colour confidence.
In the book, Laura explores what makes a home truly a rainbow home. This might be a bold colour clash, a vibrant pop of unexpected hue, or a pattern explosion. Yes to all, please!
The book is divided by area of the home. From entryways and living spaces to home offices, outdoor spaces, and of course, kitchens. It also breaks down the power of colour into three playful groups: dopamine brights, playful pastels, and uplifting neons. You'll also find tips on how to pair colours, choose the right shades for your space, and use colour with purpose... something I’m incredibly passionate about.
Being featured in this book feels like such a full circle moment. I started Republic of Happy to bring a little Colombian sunshine into the grey skies of the UK, through bold, original prints designed to spark joy and brighten up homes.
My background as a graphic designer and colour lover goes deep, and to be recognised in a book that celebrates the emotional power of colour is a total dream. It’s also incredibly special to be featured alongside so many talented creatives and colourful home accounts I admire 💛
Laura Perryman is a globally respected colour and material design consultant with over 15 years of experience. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, House & Garden, and more, and she regularly lectures at design schools and events around the world.
Her ethos? Colour should be used with purpose. To uplift, connect, and create environments that are not only beautiful but meaningful. A girl after my own heart!
So, if you're redecorating, craving more colour in your life, or just want to feel inspired, The Rainbow Home would be an amazing addition to your coffee table. It’s the kind of book you’ll flip through again and again, especially if you’re looking for ideas to make your home feel more YOU! 🙌🏻
The Rainbow Home is available at all the usual bookshops, so go find yourself a beautiful copy.
You’ll find my kitchen and my colourful Vertical Flowers kitchen textiles set in the Kitchens chapter. If you get a copy, tag me... I’d love to see!
