This is Arturo! He’s Republic of Happy’s assistant, in charge of answering all your questions… in exchange for a treat!
I do, thanks for asking! I’m Veronica, the designer behind Republic of Happy. I create all the original prints myself, inspired by my tropical Colombian roots and 30 years of experience as a graphic designer.
I design every pattern from my studio in (sometimes sunny!) Cornwall, and then my trusted UK experts carefully print and sew each product to perfection. When you shop here, you’re getting truly original designs, not fabric bought off the roll.
Absolutely! All my products are printed and made right here in the UK by some of the most experienced printers and skilful sewing hands. At Republic of Happy, it makes me happy to support UK businesses!
By buying products made in the UK, we’re lowering our carbon footprint, saving essential skills, helping local economies, and creating job opportunities. Yes please!
I’m all about prioritising sustainability and ethical sourcing for every product I offer, so you can feel good about your purchase. Go ahead and shop without guilt!
Check each product page for details on every item’s eco-credentials. Happy planet, happy people!

The cushion covers, aprons, oven gloves, and tea towels are made from 100% cotton drill. It has a lovely soft finish, but it’s also strong and durable. Don’t be fooled by the gorgeous looks. These products are made for using, not just for show!
The fabric is an English product, sourced from reliable, responsible producers in the UK, supporting local manufacturing.
The fabrics are digitally printed using planet-friendly, water-based inks. This method is far more environmentally friendly than traditional screen printing. No water is wasted washing out screens, and no chemicals end up in the water system. Happy planet, happy people!
Keeping your textiles looking fabulous is a breeze! Just follow these simple tips:
No dry-cleaning required. Phew!
Not on my watch! I’m a stickler for quality, so those lovely colours are here to stay. I’ve done my homework to make sure printing methods and colour fastness are top-notch.
The textiles will keep looking gorgeous, wash after wash, and my art prints are made for long-lasting, stunning colour. When you invest in my designs, you’re investing in durable beauty.
The cushion covers are for indoor use only. They’re not fans of rain or direct sunshine.
An outdoor collection is on my to-do list, so keep an eye out!
Definitely! All my textile products are made from high-quality, durable fabrics that can handle regular use and washing. Perfect for busy, happy households.
Don’t worry! The tiny white specks are completely normal and are a result of printing on natural fabric.
Sometimes small pieces of lint can fall off after printing, leaving tiny white spaces. They’re harmless and won’t affect the quality or durability of your product.
If you have any further concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The cushion covers can be purchased with or without a cushion pad. If you’d like it filled, you can choose between British sheep’s wool or fibre. Both planet-friendly and super comfy!
I don’t offer feather fillers because I can’t guarantee the duckies had a happy life.
If you’re using your own pad, I recommend 48–50cm for a lush, plump fit.

These beauties are printed on museum-grade Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper with the giclée technique, which means they’re built to last. Acid- and lignin-free, specially made for fine art. In normal daylight, they can stay gorgeous for 80+ years!
Printed on pH-balanced, chlorine-free paper with UV-resistant inks, so the colours stay vibrant for years to come.
Whichever type you pick, a little TLC goes a long way. Keep your prints out of direct sunlight, away from heat and damp, and they’ll stay happy and colourful for years!
Giclée printing is a high-quality method used to reproduce artwork, photographs, and other images. A specialised printer sprays microscopic droplets of ink onto premium paper or canvas to capture every detail and colour perfectly.
Unlike ordinary printing that relies on dots, giclée gives a smooth, seamless finish with rich colours and crisp detail. It’s the reason artists, photographers, and collectors fall in love with giclée. Your artwork gets the superstar treatment it deserves!
All my art prints are proudly printed in the UK by environmentally responsible companies. They use FSC-certified papers that are either 100% recycled, partially recycled, or made with alternative fibres. Their printing processes are designed to minimise energy use, and any unavoidable carbon emissions are offset by investing in renewable energy projects.
All art prints are currently unframed, but I may offer framed ones in the future, so keep an eye out!
Each print is carefully packed in a cellophane bag with a sturdy backing board and placed inside a thick envelope to protect it on its journey to you.
Each sheet of wrapping paper is printed on gorgeous 120gsm uncoated matte paper, measuring 70cm x 50cm (27in x 20in).
Not too thin, not too thick, just perfect! Strong enough to avoid rips, yet easy to fold for crisp, neat corners. It looks and feels fab too, making your gifts (and craft projects!) extra special.
My wrapping paper is proudly made in the UK using 100% recyclable, FSC-approved paper and printed with vegetable inks. It’s a sustainable way to add colour and joy to your gifts while being kind to the planet.
Your wrapping paper sheets are rolled and posted in a sturdy cardboard tube. After all, no one wants creased wrapping paper! This way, your sheets arrive looking pristine and ready to make your gifts shine.

Unfortunately, not at the moment.
Sending orders abroad has turned out to be tricky, pricey, and a bit of a headache with all the taxes, tariffs, and paperwork. To keep things simple (and save customers from surprise costs), I’ve decided to focus on UK deliveries for now.
Sadly, I can no longer ship to Northern Ireland. The new GPSR requirements have made it too complex and costly to continue offering this service.
I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience this causes. If things change in the future, I’ll update this FAQ straight away.
If your order hasn’t arrived within the timeframe listed in When will my order arrive?, here’s what to do:
For full details, please see my Shipping Policy.
I really hope you won’t want or need to return anything, but if you do, please email me at talktome@republicofhappy.co.uk within 30 days of delivery, including your reason for returning and your order details.
All returns must be unused, unwashed, and in their original packaging. Please note that you’ll need to cover the return postage costs yourself.
